Alabama Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils

People, Partners, Projects and Progress

The Alabama Association of RC&D Councils are non-profit organizations that are made up of volunteers who identify the unmet needs in their communities and create solutions across Alabama.

Alabama RC&D Councils –
Serving all 67 Alabama Counties

Since 1962, RC&D Councils have worked to empower local citizens to develop and carry out an action-oriented plan for the social, economic, and environmental enrichment of their communities.

People

RC&D empowers local people to work within their own communities.

Projects

Because of People and Partners, RC&D is able to implement projects in their local communities.

Partners

RC&D is not possible without our dedicated partners – both volunteers and organizations.

Progress

Progress comes to Alabama communities through the projects implemented across the state.

2022 Projects

Each year the Alabama Association of RC&D Councils provides funding for projects all across the state of Alabama to help our state a better place to live, work and play!

Alabama Lions Sight Mobile Eye Clinic

The Alabama Lions Sight Mobile Eye Clinic provides comprehensive eye exams to thousands of patients across Alabama, most of whom are over 50 and do not yet qualify for Medicare. With help from Cawaco RC&D Council, their scholarship program ensures that every patient who needs an exam and glasses will receive them.

The Marion-Perry Library

The Marion-Perry County Library provides summer reading, story time, weekly Head Start programs and other educational programs and activities for children in the community. These programs are funded in part by the Ala-Tom RC&D Council.
